A roll-off dumpster from Precision costs $425 to $550 delivered anywhere within 50 miles of Lakeland, depending on the size. That covers drop-off, pickup, disposal and the weight allowance for the can. Weight over the allowance is billed at $95 per ton, off the certified landfill scale ticket, and we send you the ticket.

02The three things that can add to it
Weight
Every ton over the allowance is $95 per ton, charged off the landfill scale ticket. Weight is where most surprise bills come from, and it is almost always the same materials: shingles, concrete, dirt and tile. A single cubic yard of broken concrete is close to two tons on its own, the whole allowance on a 20 yard can.
Distance
The first 50 miles from Lakeland are included. That covers Tampa, Plant City, Thonotosassa, Auburndale and Davenport. Between 50 and 85 miles adds $185, which is where Bradenton lands at about 67 miles. Past 85 miles is quoted case by case.
Time of day
We are open 9 AM to 6 PM, seven days, and we will come out at any hour. A call-out outside 9–6 adds $275 to the job price. A call-out after midnight adds $399 to the job price instead.

- A bathroom remodel in Lakeland, 10 yard, under half a ton. $425. Nothing else applies.
- A roof tear-off in Tampa, 20 yard, three tons on the ticket. $550 plus one ton over at $95: $645.
- A garage clear-out in Bradenton, 15 yard, under a ton. $465 plus the $185 distance band: $650.

04Why weight decides the bill
Every load is weighed at the county gate and the county charges the hauler by the ton. That is the cost the weight allowance and the overage rate exist to cover.

The practical upshot: the size of the can matters less than what goes in it. Ten yards of old furniture weighs next to nothing. Ten yards of wet drywall and tile does not.
05How to compare quotes
Advertised prices around Central Florida start lower than ours on the smallest cans. When we looked at published local price lists in September 2026, the difference was nearly always in what the price included. Ask every hauler the same six questions and compare the answers, not the headline.
- How much weight is included? Local lists ranged from half a ton to more than three tons for similar sizes.
- What is the overage rate? Published rates ran from about $60 to over $200 a ton. Ask whether it is charged off a real scale ticket.
- How many days are included, and what is each extra day? Local lists ran from one day to two weeks, with extra days at around $20 to $35.
- Are there fuel or environmental fees? Some haulers add a fuel percentage or a flat environmental fee on top of the quote.
- Is delivery included where you are? Some charge by the mile past a set radius.
- Do weekends or evenings cost more?
A lower headline price with a smaller weight allowance can end up costing more on a heavy job, and a bigger allowance is wasted on a light one. Tell us what is going in and we will tell you straight which of our sizes is right, even when it is the cheaper one.
06Ways to spend less
- Pick the right size, not the smallest. Going too small means a second can. The size guide works it out from the job.
- Keep heavy material separate. Concrete, dirt and shingles eat the allowance fast. Say so when you book and we will size for weight, not volume.
- Put it on the driveway. A street placement can need a permit, and in some cities a fee. The permit guide has the rules town by town.
- Leave out what the landfill refuses. Tires, batteries, paint and chemicals get pulled and charged separately. The list is on what can't go in the can.
- Book inside 9 to 6. Same-day and weekend drops cost the same as weekdays. Only the hour changes the price.
07Booking and paying
A 50% deposit of the quoted price reserves your slot, and the balance is due when the work is finished. More than 24 hours before your window you can reschedule or cancel and the deposit comes back in full. Quotes hold for 14 days.
